Cockpit Platform

An integrated home cockpit platform for managing flight simulator sessions and supporting tools from a tablet or phone. Initially supports the DA62 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and the Phenom 300 in X-Plane 12. The Cockpit Manager coordinates simulator startup, cockpit hardware, radio integration, camera controls, and optional AI services. Sessions can use a flight received from WingRally or a manually selected departure location, with the aircraft prepared in the desired initial state, including cold and dark. This project provides shared architecture, decisions, tasks, and progress for development across multiple codebases and AI coding sessions.

10 TOP-LEVEL SECTIONS
00 - Start Here & Current Baseline

00 - Start Here & Current Baseline

Project purpose, initial scope, reported current operation and navigation for human contributors and AI coding sessions.

01 - Architecture & Shared Agreements

01 - Architecture & Shared Agreements

Component responsibilities, integration contracts, simulator ownership and coordination across repositories. Separate verified implementation from proposals.

02 - Cockpit Manager / Session Launcher

02 - Cockpit Manager / Session Launcher

Evolve the existing launcher into the central session controller with mobile/tablet access, simulator profiles, embedded Sim Agent and FreeTrack coordination.

03 - Cockpit Broker & Nodes

03 - Cockpit Broker & Nodes

Physical cockpit I/O, node synchronization, simulator mappings, broker placement and single-instance operation.

04 - RadioBridge

04 - RadioBridge

Independent optional radio subsystem owning radio state, PTT, audio, simulator-radio adapters, the T-Dongle gateway and peer Wi-Fi clients (Android, handheld and future fixed cockpit radio). Cockpit Manager handles lifecycle and displays RadioBridge-reported readiness only. DA62/MSFS is the first integration candidate; XP12/Phenom remains unqualified.

05 - AI-ATC

05 - AI-ATC

Optional local ATC runtime, Ollama dependency and coordination with RadioBridge.

06 - WingRally Integration

06 - WingRally Integration

WingRally and optional SimBrief route sources, Bridge 0.4 simulator detection and XP plugin, Navigraph/SimBrief dependencies, explicit simulator selection and flight handoff. Distinguish source capability, last inspected deployment and live aircraft qualification. Native WingRally-to-XP route export remains to be implemented.

07 - AI Flight Instructor / SimBridge

07 - AI Flight Instructor / SimBridge

Optional instructor experiment, telemetry and simulator integration boundaries.

08 - Deployment & Versions

08 - Deployment & Versions

Development on Kubuntu, publication through NAS, execution on the Windows simulator PC and proposed compatible releases.

09 - Integration & Migration

09 - Integration & Migration

Incremental migration, cross-component tasks, end-to-end acceptance checks and unresolved integration questions.
